Welcome to Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge

It's best between the bridges!

The one-mile, oval race course between the Highway 58 local and bypass bridges offers outstanding spectator viewing of the races from the causeway of the local bridge. If you need to take a break from all the excitement, downtown Clarksville is alive all weekend as the Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce hosts the Harvest Days Festival. Arts and Crafts, Food Vendors, and Entertainment line the streets of town, where a variety of shops and restaurants offer more opportunities for the whole family to enjoy your visit to Clarksville.

While Clarksville has a long history with hydroplane racing, the town returned to the hydroplane circuit in 2004 and has quickly become a racer favorite. It's the local hospitality that makes this event so successful, with volunteers and businesses pulling together to make the Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge enjoyable for the racing teams, officials and spectators.

Education

Education Programs are central to our mission.

The Clarksville Economic Development Corporation is committed not only to sponsoring hydroplane racing, but also to developing the industry. In 2007 CEDA began offering educational programs that provide opportunities for our youth to learn about the maritime industry and experience the thrill of racing. Clarksville area students and adult volunteers completed five J-boats in April 2008 which they are racing in four regional races this year. Additionally a Sea Perch Underwater ROV Program is currently in development.
